Victor adored Vera, which was why he let her get away with so much. But that didn't mean she could devote all her time to other people.
She was supposed to be focusing on Luke lately, but instead, her attention was now entirely on Ian Lockwood. This had caused a fair bit of resentment to build up in Victor's heart.
But with other people in the hospital room, it wasn't a good time for Victor to say what he was thinking. He waited until they were alone, then pulled Vera out into the hallway.
"Vera, your job is done. You succeeded in getting Ian to wake up. You should hand the rest of his care over to other doctors. There are plenty of specialists who can help him; you don't need to be personally responsible for everything."
Victor knew how important Ian was to Vera, and while resentment had been building inside him, he had always chosen to be patient with her.
