Vera Warner left the hospital and immediately called Specter. He picked up on the very last ring.
She had thought Specter wouldn't be reachable either. Hearing his call connect, Vera couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope.
"Specter, you finally answered. Can you tell me where on earth Ron is right now? And do you know... they've made a move on Chloe?"
Vera knew that Specter used to dote on Chloe as much as she did, grooming her as a successor. The last time there was an incident, he had been the one to help her escape. So, she believed he was on her side.
