Everything was proceeding peacefully.
Since Vera didn't have to go to work lately, she would just stay home and enjoy a good, long sleep once the two little ones were off to school.
Victor Morgan, for his part, was true to his word. No matter how urgent things got, he would come back every day at noon to take a nap with her.
Around noon that day, Vera had just woken up when she heard a knock on the door, followed by the respectful voice of the butler.
"Ma'am, you have a package."
Although Vera and Victor weren't married, he had ordered the staff to address her that way.
Besides, Vera was very good to the household staff, so they were happy to call her that, thinking, 'They'll be family sooner or later anyway.'

"I don't think I've ordered anything online recently. Does it say who the sender is?"
