There had been days in Amber's life that she had wished that she could just get away from everyone, it was understandable really. Her status as the Fall Maiden, one of the last people on all of Remnant who could use magic, and a certain ability she had due to that status meant that most of her time was spent with her being monitored by the people who worked for headmaster Ozpin like Qrow or Glynda.
She understood why, she really did. The mere thought of what could happen if someone... unsavory ended up getting her powers and the chaos such a thing could bring meant that her safety was not simply the safety of one young woman but the safety of thousands.
Even so, there were days where all the monitoring just got on her nerves and made her wish she could just be away from everyone.
"Gah!"
She really should have wished for something else, like a steak sandwich or a billion liens.
Honestly, she really should have realized that something was wrong when she had seen that child on the road. What kind of child would be just crying on a road in the middle of nowhere?! Of course it had been an illusionary semblance and her bleeding heart had fell for it like a sucker.
And now she was trying to survive the trio who had attacked her. A young girl with chocolate colored skin and mint colored hair wearing skimpy clothing and using two pistols, a guy with silver hair that could kick harder than a fucking bullhead and finally a woman in a dress with a bow made out of two swords who was controlling glass she had created from the ground.
All in all, Amber was not exactly happy with her chances.
She was even more not happy when the girl and guy managed to subdue her and then the woman pulled some sort of glove out as she approached her. She didn't know what the glove did, but she didn't need to know that to realize the glove coming towards her face was not a good thing. Especially since the glove felt more and more like some sort of Grimm as it got closer.
"Please... don't." She practically begged, cause to be honest, there wasn't much she could do. Her aura was completely depleted and while she could technically still use her magic, the complete depletion of her aura had tired her physically and mentally; and that was without mentioning all the hits she had taken due to one of their semblances that created illusions. She couldn't bring out any power.
It was over, her hand was so close...
"My my, that ain't nice you know."
...but before anything could happen they were interrupted by a voice from above them.
The owner of the voice was a man around her own age with white hair wearing black clothes and, weirdly enough, a black blindfold.
"Ganging up on one cute little lady, it is really unfair." He said with a smile and Amber could feel the apprehension of her captors turn into irritation while the woman with glove's turned into anger.
"You..." But before she could say anything, the man disappeared. And then the guy holding her right arm flew to the girl holding her left and they both tumbled away as she started to fall. But before she could fully impact the ground, she somehow ended up in the man's arms in a bridal carry.
"Hi there. I'm Satoru, nice to meet you." He said with a smile that was slightly terrifying due to the blindfold. Not that she would say that out loud after he had likely saved her life.
"A... Amber." She gasped out before finally her body and mind reached their limit and she lost her consciousness.

"You bastard!"
Cinder Fall believed in destiny.
She believed that certain things happened the way they had in order for important events to take place.
Her life till now, it had all happened so that she could fulfill her destiny and take the powers of the Maidens for herself. To become so strong that no one could hurt her again.
So why? Why? Why?! WhY?!
Why was her destiny interrupted like this?!
"My my, that's a very nasty look you have on your face." The man who had tried to deny her of the power she deserved said with a smile. Mocking them.
"You know, you shouldn't glare so much. You face might get stuck like that, then you won't be able to find yourself a boyfriend." He said while laughing all the time. He was likely buying time, there was no way he could be this relaxed against three opponents!
"You might want to leave that girl and go away. You can't protect her while going against us at the same time." She said with a smirk, she did not know what kind of semblance he had. He had been flying but then he had also appeared behind Mercury, she wasn't sure what kind of semblance could do that.
"Hahaha, oh you don't have to worry about that. After all..." He said with a wave of his hand and his smirk grew even smugger as he continued.
"...you're weak."
After he had uttered those words, there was silence. And then the silence was destroyed by Cinder's semblance heating up the very air around her and the very earth started to bubble with heat.
"You! Dare!" She cried out as she commanded her power.
Cinder Fall's semblance, Scorching Caress, had two distinct abilities. The first ability allowed her to superheat objects to the point she could turn people into ashes within seconds. The second ability was to control the objects she had superheated. That was how she had turned the dust, not the Schnee kind, into glass shards and hurled them at the Fall Maiden.
Now, she was using it to control the earth that she had superheated until it had became lava and send a wave of molten earth at the bastard who had dared to call her 'weak'!
"Heh."
And then the wave dispersed with a shockwave, the bastard's palm pointing towards her.
"Might as well end this." He said and a red light started to form over his palm, a light that condensed into itself as it became a small sphere and shined brighter than every moment before.
"Get lost." And then Cinder Fall was sent away with a shockwave.
