Beautifully chaotic would be the only words that could be used to describe the ancient world of Azure Moon.
Yet despite it's beauty both Humans and Soul Beast's that called this place home fought for supremacy each trying to eliminate the other from the face of their homeworld.
Both Humans and Soul Beast's became being's of immense strength through cultivation they could fly through the air, destroy mountain ranges with a single punch and cleave the sea in two.
Humans were able to do this by manifesting their Martial Souls thus allowing them to absorb the energy in the air and Soul Beast's absorbed the same energy but they did it directly through their bodies.
The intense and destructive fighting lasted for hundreds of centuries without an end in sight that was until rifts of varying sizes opened all over Azure Moon as they were invaded by a strange race of being's they would later call Ashan.
The Ashan averaged at a height of around 2 meters tall their skin were colour's that ranged from pitch-black, deep violet and scarlet red with two horns on either side of their heads that curved backwards and four muscular arm's that ended with clawed finger's.
When the Ashan invaded Azure Moon the energy that the rifts released from the Ashan's homeworld when they opened ended up polluting the energy that was in the air of Azure Moon making it impossible for both the Humans and Soul Beast's to cultivate.
Due to the polluted energy of Azure Moon both the Humans and Soul Beast's were brought to near extinction.
Due to both Humans and Soul Beast's being in weakened states the invading Ashan's destroyed everything they came across with relative ease making the century long battles between Humans and Soul Beast's look like mere child's play.
This would later be called the Great Ashan Massacre and would mark the beginning of the fall of what was called the Ancient Era.
The Great Ashan Massacre caused untold and unfounded destruction to the Azure Moon continent.
Many different lineages and martial souls were lost in the ensuing battles but this all changed when a group of Humans followed by Soul Beast's grouped together to create what would be their salvation a Life-Contract.
Even though it was called a Life-Contract it didn't mean that the contractor and the contracted Soul Beast would perish when the other did instead they would enter a state of temporary weakness when the other died.
The Life-Contract allowed Humans and Soul Beast's to once again cultivate through joint co-operation and thanks to this they managed to drive back the Ashan's.
Some of the remaining ancient Soul Beast's that managed to survive used their high cultivation to seal the rifts ending the invasion and sending the Ashan's back to their homeworld.
Due to their close contact with the foreign energy from the rifts the ancient Soul Beast's were contaminated by the strange energy and slowly started to lose their mind's so they and the ancient Humans had no other choice but to seal them away.
In an attempt to slow the degradation of their mind's the ancient Soul Beast's had no other option but to sleep hoping that the future generations may find a way to reverse the damage.
A few decades later new Martial Souls started to appear along with never before seen Soul Beast's and this wasn't the only thing that changed.
The various area's where the ancient Soul Beast's were sealed started to expand and created pocket realms of various sizes depending on the strength of the ancient Soul Beast that was sealed inside which were later named Ancient Soul Realms.
Inside these realms that were located all over Azure Moon the mutated energy caused the plant life and Soul Beast's to mutate with it causing them to produce a vast array of natural resources.
By using these resources the Humans and their partnered Soul Beast's managed to slowly regain the power they had lost.
Human researcher's had been tasked with studying the mutated energy and after many painstaking year's of research they eventually managed to understand the new type of energy and decided to call it Zerastil energy.
Over the next thousand year's the now partnered Humans and Soul Beast's started the long process to rebuild the cities and town's.
They managed to recover technology that the Ashan's left behind along with some of the ancient techniques over this course of time.
This would later come to be known as the Great Resurgence due to the new Martial Souls, Soul Beast's and the steady increase of power in both Humans and Soul Beast's
After a thousand year's had passed since the Great Ashan Massacre both Humans and Soul Beast's had flourished creating a world of prosperity.
Although Humans and Soul Beast's had come a long way in these thousand year's there were still group's of people who wanted to go back to the chaotic battles of the long passed Ancient Era.
The most prominent of the notorious group's were the Chaotic Ghost Sect, the Ephemeral Shadow Sect and the Demonic Blood Sect.
Luckily for the inhabitants of Azure Moon great master's rose up in order to defend them that were called the Heavenly Beastmaster Emperor's.
The Heavenly Beastmaster Emperor's had been fighting against these dark factions for the passed 100 years.
Due to the long drawn out fighting the Heavenly Beastmaster Emperor's created a coalition known as the Heavenly Imperium in order to guard the populace from these dark factions.
In order to make sure the dark factions didn't win school's were made under the direction of the Heavenly Imperium to make sure the next generation of Beastmaster's would have the time to grow and gain the necessary capabilities for them to join the fight against the various dark factions.
