Mrs. Geoffrey still tried to persuade, "Becca…"
Rebecca Quentin interrupted Howard Geoffrey, "Aunt Clare, you don't have to say any more… If I pretend to be unaware and stay with Howard, I don't think I will ever truly be happy."
Mrs. Geoffrey slumped onto the edge of the bed, unsure of what to do.
A few minutes later, Mrs. Geoffrey walked out of the room with the untouched soup.
Mrs. Geoffrey was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice Howard walking towards the room.
It wasn't until Howard called out "Mom" that Mrs. Geoffrey looked up in a daze, "Howie."
Howard noticed the untouched soup in Mrs. Geoffrey's hand, furrowed his brow, and asked, "She won't drink it?"
Mrs. Geoffrey nodded, "She seems determined."
Howard gently supported Mrs. Geoffrey and comforted her, "Mom, don't worry, I assure you that everything will be fine with her and me."
"You shouldn't have kept it from me…"
"Hmm?"
"Becca wants to get rid of the baby…"
