Rebecca Quentin abruptly looked up, staring at him blankly, the words caught in her throat already swallowed back down.
"If the price of having you is losing our child and your lifelong unhappiness, the only thing I can do is let you go."
As he said these words, her hand clutched the bedsheet beneath her, a sense of bleakness overwhelmed her entire being.
"Becca, I want to consider the memories on Foam Island as the most beautiful memories of our years together, is that too much to ask?"
Rebecca Quentin remained silent.
"But I feel ashamed, in our seven years together, our beautiful memories amount to just those few days."
