"Don't drink anymore, Oversky, if you keep drinking you will get alcohol poisoning!!" Mrs. Geoffrey said, her heart aching as she snatched the bottle from Skyler Jones' hand and choked out, "The dead can't come back to life, what's the point of all this suffering? If you won't think of yourself, consider Marie. If Marie were here now and saw you like this, how would you hide the news of Christine's passing from her?"
Skyler Jones remained indifferent, like someone who had lost all consciousness, caring nothing for the world.
As Mrs. Geoffrey came out of the room, she ran into Howard Geoffrey.
Howard Geoffrey's face was heavy as he asked, "How is he, brother?"
Mrs. Geoffrey wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and said painfully, "He hasn't said a word until now. He drinks until he's drunk, wakes up, and drinks again..."
Howard gently supported his mother, "Mom, don't worry too much. He still has Marie. He won't stay down forever."
