Christine Quinn lowered her gaze in annoyance, "Nothing..."
Skyler Jones gazed at her but didn't say a word of comfort.
"If you want to sleep, you go ahead. I'm going to take a shower." Leaving those words, Christine Quinn rushed into the bathroom.
She expected Skyler Jones to follow her, but he didn't; the room was unbelievably quiet.
Standing in front of the sink mirror, Christine Quinn quietly looked at herself.
Suddenly, she took off her earrings, haphazardly tied up her hair, and leaned dejectedly against the sink.
As she grew more frustrated and her thoughts became more chaotic, she lost the desire to shower. She opened the bathroom door, intending to clear things up with him.
But as she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw him talking on the phone by the window.
He was probably discussing work matters with his subordinates in Y City...
