Before Keith Antony could respond, Alice Robinson had already hung up.
Her body slowly leaned against the back of the chair, a faint pain creeping over her heart.
She took a deep breath to alleviate the ache and picked up the phone to dial a series of numbers.
"Uncle Grant, how is the vineyard doing now? Do we have any options?"
Uncle Grant sighed on the other end, exhausted, "Alice, I'm afraid we won't last past this week... Many employees heard that the vineyard might not continue operating, and they've started slacking, even demanding wages."
"I understand, Uncle Grant. I'll think of something."
"Alright, I'll keep an eye on these few vineyards for you and make sure to delay as long as possible."
"Thank you, Uncle Grant."
After ending the conversation with the elder, Alice Robinson sat in the chair and contemplated for a while, finally picking up the phone.
She called the female supervisor from her workplace.
