Claud Laurence glanced at Alice Robinson, who was talking to Charlotte Yule beside him, and softly said, "Doctor Robinson, actually, your sister and I knew each other before the party. As you mentioned, she is indeed slow to warm up, but fortunately, our mutual friends introduced us to collaborate on the vineyard, allowing us to get to know each other better."
"My sister has been spoiled by our family since she was young, so if she throws a tantrum in the future, I hope General Laurence will be understanding," Chester Robinson said, raising his wine glass.
Claud Laurence followed suit, picking up his wine glass. "Doctor Robinson, you're too modest. Alice is the kindest and most wonderful girl I've ever met, and I will sincerely care for her."
Chester Robinson smiled and lightly clinked glasses with Claud Laurence.
