"We have to stop," Nefra said that three times already, even as she pulled me back toward her neck.
"Definitely," I didn't want to stop, but we had to. That didn't stop me from licking her collarbone, tracing the scar from one side to the other. "We need to."
"But if you do, it'll break my heart," Nefra's hands dug into my hair, refusing to let me move.
"We can't have that," and I wouldn't. I'd made the mistake of staying away from her last time. It wouldn't happen again. "That'd kill me."
There was a knock at the door, forcing us to pause.
They kept doing that. Every few minutes, checking to see that we were fine.
"Everything alright, Luna Nefretiri?" the nurse asked, already opening the door.
"I'm fine," Nefra tried talking normally, but she was breathless. "I just need another second to finish my paperwork!"
"Good girl," I praised, kissing her neck as a reward. "Just a little longer."
