I snapped the neck of one of the wolves and threw its body.
"Be more careful. You always leave your back wide open."
"Aren't you watching my back!"
She screamed me while blasting a wolf with a fireball. It was funny to watch her panic while her natural mood was serious and calm. I pointed my finger to last wolf alive.
"Magic Missile."
A scarlet beam pierced its head.
"Did we finished all of them?"
She asked to me while breathing rapidly.
"You are the one with detection spells."
"Irgggh! Can't you help me out! I am tired! My hair is a mess! I haven't washed for 5 days!"
"You are the one who wanted to become an adventurer."
"I only became an adventurer because I needed money!"
I grabbed bodies of wolves.
"I don't think bag of holding will take all of them. Which ones should we choose?"
"You are better at choosing."
I picked bodies with better conditions. The ones I killed were in better condition, just saying for record.
"With this I can finally be D rank. Finally!"
She threw her hands to air.
"If you sell some of your potions you could already be D rank."
She put her hands to her hip and sighed.
"You know that I cannot do that. Those stupid Olendreia bastards. Just because we are following another path they call us heretics!"
"Can't you just call yourself "Self-made alchemist" and sell them?"
"I can but I don't want to get too much attention. Since someone left a physical demonic mark on me what they need to do is just search me and I will ended up in stake."
"That's a weird way to thank me for magic boost."
"Just shut up and carry those."
"That wasn't in our contract."
Despite saying that I picked up bag of holding. Even though it decreased the weight it was still to heavy for her to carry. If I didn't continuously did my quests it would be hard even for me.
"So what will you do?"
I couldn't get inside the city with her. Even in my pet form someone could sense me. So when she were inside city, doing adventurer stuff I was outside. I looked at my current quest:
(Clear one dungeon, solo. Difficulty C.)
My first C rank quest.
"Probably just roam around. Study magic. Sleep. I also get tired, you know."
I lied. If she knew that I was going to a dungeon she would tried to stop me.
"Stay away from trouble."
"I can say the same thing for you. Goodbye."
I left. We were already close the city walls. Last thing I want was someone to detect me and start a witch hunt. Minerva could call a carrier to carry her stuff. I waited until the night. Since city Adventurer Guild was close to several dungeons I had no problem finding a dungeon. The problem was not being detected while clearing it. So I waited until midnight when it would be unlikely someone would be there. This world was home to many dungeons. The existence of dungeons puzzled me. They were places monsters lived that's okay. There were treasures, that's okay too. Boss monsters? That's okay too. But they being respawing? I did not understood it. When monsters killed in dungeons more magically spawned. Boss monsters too. Traps refilled itself and treasures restored without anyone doing anything. That was dumb. No one in this world seemed to wonder about it. To them how dungeons worked was like how Sun and sky worked. "They were here before us and they will be here after us." Seemed to be way of thinking.

Due finishing quests and maturing my stats increased considerably. I was around 150 centimetres. I also learned one of the most basic branches of magic: Arcane. Arcane magic was basic because you only used pure magical power. You did not tried to turn it to anything. It allowed me to create simple shields or fire missiles. It gave me variety and a way to attack from distance so I was glad. I had to thank Minerva for that. Even though it wasn't in our contract she taught me. Then again, I also did things that weren't in our contract. I watched guards fell asleep. Due dungeons creating many sources like artifacts and monster parts guards watched the entrace. To get in to a dungeon you needed pay a fee.
"Damn, capitalism runs even here."
While I could pay the fee by taking money from Minerva no way guards would let a demon. So I had no way other than sneaking. I put a beef jerky in my mouth and chewed. Due usage of Fury I was about to lose bunch of calories. As soon as I was sure that guards were asleep I rushed to entrance. One of the guards jumped due wind I created but I didn't stopped to look him. I was already deep in cave. No guard would want to go inside a dungeon just becase some lunatic got into dungeon. This dungeon was called Goblin's Nest. It was a low level dungeon. It was shaped like a cave. Despite the dimly lit surroundings I could see perfectly. Many benefits of being a demon. In front of me was a goblin. It reminded me imps. Except green and lacking horns and wings. They also seemed to be weaker than imps since I crushed the head of one without using Fury. Maybe I should have gone to a higher rank one. But security in higher rank dungeons were tighter. I am also already here.
"Hey, Voice want to make a bet with me?"
I heard from Minerva that this dungeon usually took 5 hours to clear.
"I can clear this dungeon in 1 hour."
(New quest: Clear Goblin's Nest in 1 hour. Difficulty C.)
Heh, I knew that you would behave like this. I threw another piece of jerky to my mouth. As I activated Fury I felt my body getting warmer and my heart beating faster.
"We will be going fast!"
