Chapter 31 - Barghest

"Just describe what they do."

(Crushing Impact increases all of your strikes power. It gives all of your attacks crush correction.)

The fuck is crush correction? Does all of my attacks deal crushing type of damage? Or crushing enemies becomes easier? Whatever it was it sounded strong. I touched my sides.

"It also felt like it is strong."

(Time Perception Alteration allows you to change how you perceive time using magical power. You can slow or fasten it.)

"Can you give how much I can alter it at level 1?"

(At level you can alter it by 10 percent for 3 real seconds.)

"I am bad at math."

I didn't tried to calculate that shit. But I knew that this skill was strong.

"It is probably how that shrimp could attack like that."

"Can you tell me about magic power usage? Is is cost efficient?"

(At level 1… Error. Admin forbid this information.)

(You have 1 new message from Admin: Suck it nerd. You can't both disobey me and get the all the benefits from my system.)

Seriously, Lucy? Are you that petty? You are a Goddess for fucks sake. But that meant that she still kept an eye on me. While she was clearly angry to me still worried about me, huh?

"Can't love you, can't hate you."

Isn't that how family is? Family. I thought her as family. I mean we were blood related but does that means you saw those people as family? Probably no.

"I still chose Time Alter bullshit."

(You acquired active skill Time Perception Alteration. Crushing Impact converted into 0.1 skill point. You currently have 7.5 skill points.)

After waiting for my ribs to heal I proceeded to next floor. As I stepped into that floor I realized that I forgot something.

"Fucking quest reward."

I looked at the fist sized transparent gem thing.

"Empty Blood Stone? How do I use it? What is it? And how I'll fill it?"

(You have 1 message from Admin: One question at time. Also, beg.)

"Fuck off Lucy."

I'll find myself. But carrying it like this was awkward.

"I wish I wore some clothes."

While I was with Minerva I wore some short like clothing in my lower part. But all of my clothing was destroyed. Even the little bag I carried.

"Maybe I should asked for some clothes."

Both 10th and 9th floor had some clothes I could maybe fit.

"No."

Then again when I transformed they would be ripped.

(It is fun watching you like this.)

"I am glad at least one of us is having fun."

(You could be in a castle, sipping high quality wine served with beautiful woman. Opps, I forgot you preferred man.)

"When did I started to like wine? I don't have any memories of drinking."

(You never drunk. Too pussy for it.)

"Or I just prefer not having my mind clouded by substances."

(Oh, do you want your mommy to warm your milk too?)

I stopped for a minute.

"Lucy." A voice full of coldness yet with no emotions.

"Don't go to far."

She didn't talked anymore. Except a system message:

(Having both inferiority and superiority complex at the same time, vampires always sought a way to evolve. They weren't content with just getting stronger. They wished to evolve. Blood Stone is a creation born due this very mentality. It absorbs other beings blood and life force. When it is full you can use it to evolve.)

I didn't thanked her. A part of me wanted it so deeply yet I hold on. She had to learn not touching some subjects. I looked around.

"Finally, some fresh air."

I wasn't sure how much time I spent in that cave. But feeling wind again felt good.

"But not you, asshole!"

I shouted as I kicked away the dog like creature.

"I just came here! Can't you wait for a second!"

Dog like my ass!

"You like like a dog's and goblin's forbidden love."

That was the best way I could describe it.

(Barghest. Don't allow it to howl.)

It opened its jaws to howl. I created magic circles and fired. While I hit it it survived. It howled. It was a high pitched noise that made my head hurt. At the same time:

(You have been cursed. You will be losing stamina and magic power gradually.)

(Don't get hit by it. Don't use half assed attacks.)

I slowed my perception by new skill I got. I watched as it lunged towards me while bearing its fangs. I pierced it in mouth. It tried to scratch using its claws but I created magic shields. I put more into my thrust and pierced its brain.

"How do I get rid of this curse?"

Even living with a witch for some time I didn't knew a lot of about curses.

(Find yourself. Do you expect me to spoon feed you all the time?)

I listened to Lucy's voice as I watched blood drain from barghest's corpse to Blood Gem. Even though it was as big as a horse and blood seemed endless, when it finished draining Blood Stone's color didn't even change a little.

"Just how much blood it needs?"

A lot of was my guess. I looked other barghests closing on me.

"Well, I don't think I am going to have shortage of blood."

While curse bothered me I could find a way to get rid of it later. Currently I had a serious problem of wild dogs. While I wondered what I was going to do with Blood Stone it disappeared.

"No."

I felt another energy inside me. It was inside me for now. Since I no longer needed to worry about it I could swing my spear without any distractions.

"Except that curse."

Using all the skill available to me I charged towards them.

"Arghhh!"

"Puh!"

Old man spat on the ground. He rode a huge horse covered with flames.

"Are you sure this is the place?"

He asked as he looked at another man in his horse.

"Yes, friend. I can even feel the magic he used."

"Is it strong?"

Old man asked with anticipation. Other man shook his head.

"It seems like a basic application of Arcane Magic. Nothing special."

Old man frowned.

"Are you sure it is our king?"

He obviously didn't wanted his king to be a weak magic user. He wanted his king to be a warrior. Someone he could clash swords and lose to. He wanted to use greatsword at his back to its fullest. If his king was weak, he wasn't his king. He would kill him, himself.

"Yeah. I can sense the demonic force."

Old man opened his mouth to say something but stopped when he heard galloping. He looked back and saw his son returning with an orc? Orc looked old with a white, long beard.

"Father, I brought someone who seen our king."

Both mans eyes opened in suprise. Orc got down from young man's horse.

"I, greet you! I am Ragnag. I am shaman of Skullcrusher tribe."

Both man observed the orc carefully.

"I can sense a contract of you. Who did you signed the contract?"

Clean shaved man talked.

"A contract? Ah, I see. With my Boss, of course."

"Who is your Boss? Is he here?"

Orc looked man directly. Man saw this as a challenge and released his magic power. Ragnag fell to ground, trembling.

"Lord Jusdas, please calm down!"

Young man pleaded. Jusdas restricted his magic power.

"Orcs, lizardman and goblins were living together. I thought it was odd then I felt contract from some of them. When I searched I met with him."

Young man explained. He then turned to Ragnag.

"The boss you are talking about. He could be our king. We want to find him and pledge our loyalty to him. Can you tell us about him?"

Young man talked calmly.

"You are too soft Belial."

His father said to him. Belial only shrug as a response.

"I see. You are our Boss's man. Then I apologize. As our Boss's man you are more than welcome here."

Old man still looked suspicious.

"What is the name of your Boss?"

"Nox the demon."

Three demons looked at each other. It wasn't a name they recognized.

"Is he strong?"

Ragnag nodded.

"Very strong. He defeated all previous leaders in one on one combat."

While for that 3 man it didn't meant a lot of it was better than nothing.

"What does he look like?"

Ragnag thought for sometime, looking for right words.

"Smaller than me. Covered with black-red scales. Arm-armed. Has tail."

Old man clicked his tongue. He turned his horse.

"We wasted out time here. What he described is a low-ranked demon!"

Ragnag looked agitated.

"Our boss is not low! He is someone that tamed the First One!"

While Belial and old man didn't reacted Jusdas looked interested.

"First One. Are you talking about primordial beings?"

Ragnag nodded. He slapped his left arm.

"In his left arm. He has it."

Jusdas turned to other men.

"If it is true, he probably is our king."
