"Shit, shit, SHIT!!!!! RUNNN!!!"
Roxy yelled at the top of her lungs. Cyrus had already drawn his sword out. Akira and Seraphiel, still fighting, sensed a turbulence in the air. The whole atmosphere shifted.
Gena and Krune...oh...they couldn't believe what was happening!
Cyrus grabbed Gena by the collar, Roxy did the same to Krune. With a click of her fingers, Roxy hid the machine and the inverter in some limbo portal out of millions.
Gena, the only one facing the human shifting in real time, for the first time in her life, watched everything unfold. It felt as though the world spun slower for her. She did not blink.
She watched how the skin tore, how the body bulged irregularly at places, how Solomon was so shocked with pain he couldn't even scream...
So this was how Shifters were born...
And they jumped.
