“So fun!” Briella exclaimed as Noah brought her inside. There was no more golden light cascading into the area as the two had played together into the night.
I turned and smiled at them, but then my jaw dropped. Briella was absolutely covered in dirt and twigs. “Noah!” I exclaimed, trying my hardest to not let a grin creep across my face. “She’s a mess! What did you do?”
“We wrestled, beautiful,” Noah said with a grin. “She was too strong for me, but I put up a fight. That’s why there’s twigs and dirt everywhere.”
“Did you find a puddle of mud?” I asked with a laugh.
“Yeah! Daddy say we play!”
“Noah!”
Noah roared with laughter, sticking his tongue out at Briella. “You told Mommy our secret, silly girl,” he said. Briella stuck her tongue out right back at Noah and then erupted into giggles.
“Alright, alright,” I said, shaking my head. “Let me get a bath prepared, and you need to wash up too, mister,” I said to my mate.
