*Adelaide*
I felt my shoulders sag as I made my way up to the palace.
It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy the long hours I spent at Queen Lena’s school. On the contrary, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was already very rewarding to go and see the bright, hopeful eyes of the students.
It was my calling to take over as the new dean of Queen Lena’s school. I knew it was my place and a great honor.
Still, I didn’t quite feel ready.
I wasn’t ready, technically. That was why I was going there so often nowadays. I was still being groomed to assume the role. It would likely be another couple of years before the previous dean retired anyway.
I had time.
I let myself in through the front entrance and was immediately greeted by a couple of maids who helped me out of my jacket and shoes. One took my bag so it could be taken up to my bedroom.
