“Zara, why don’t you sit down.”
I glanced over at Noah, trying not to let my anxiousness and frustration show any more than they already were.
Noah just raised an eyebrow at me from his spot in the plush sea-blue armchair. “You’re pacing,” he informed me in a tone that suggested that I was unaware of my quick steps.
It was true. I had been walking briskly back and forth in the large lavish resort suite for probably close to an hour by this point. I couldn’t believe the room we were in. The seashell bedspread and bright colors served as a stark contrast toward the dark inner turmoil that was wreaking up a storm inside of me.
We were anxiously waiting for Eva to meet us. It felt wrong to lounge around on the huge canopy bed or pull out a book to read on the beach.
We weren’t on vacation.
A demon sorcerer had our child. We shouldn’t have been sitting at all.
