It felt like my body was betraying me.
Nausea swirled as Kryzen held me close to his chest as we rode the train back to our palace. I was angry with myself for having to cut our romantic trip short. I had never felt this sick before, so I knew we had to go back.
I was scared, but I wasn’t going to make that known to Kryzen. He seemed stressed enough as it was.
The nausea was getting worse, and I was beginning to feel lightheaded as well. Thankfully, I never felt so nauseous that I was going to throw up again. I kept my face buried in Kryzen’s chest, using his familiar scent to soothe me.
Kryzen murmured soothingly in my ear, and I was passed out in minutes.
It had to have been a few hours since I had been asleep because the next time I opened my eyes, I was being cradled in Kryzen’s strong arms as he stepped through the threshold of the palace.
“The healers are ready for her, Your Majesty,” I heard one of our guards report.
