The Great Hall of Egoren buzzed with the warmth of celebration, its grandeur echoing the joyous occasion. Rhys and I, hands clasped, descended the dais to merge with our people, their smiles bright and hopeful. We were more than just rulers. We were part of a family that extended beyond bloodlines.
"Your Majesties," came a deep, resonant voice, one I easily recognized. Axureon, the gold dragon in his human guise, weaved his way toward us. His eyes still sparkled with otherworldly wisdom. Around him, the chatter dimmed out of reverence—or perhaps fear. His power was easily felt, a charge in the air around him that was difficult to ignore.
"Axureon," I greeted him, nodding my head slightly. It was a gesture of respect for someone who had seen centuries unfold. "Your presence honors us."
