Sunlight danced through the window, casting golden beams across the stone floor of my chamber. I stood there, watching the people of Embervale bustling below, a tapestry of motion and purpose weaving through the marketplace. It was a beautiful day, the kind that made you believe in new beginnings and old promises. It was a fitting backdrop for what was to come. Months had trickled by since we faced Tian, months filled with healing and rebuilding.
"Are you ready?" Kryzen's voice pulled me from my thoughts. He stood at the doorway, his presence as commanding as ever, eyes reflecting the light that seemed to favor him.
"Almost," I replied, tearing my gaze away from the window. "Just taking it all in."
"Take your time," he said, stepping into the room. His gray eyes found mine, steady and reassuring. "We have a moment yet."
