The sound of my children’s laughter had me smiling from behind the book I was reading. I tried to focus on the letters, but they just refused to form coherent words as Emberly and Sulien’s high-pitched giggles grew louder.
I had to look up to see what was making them so happy.
Of course, it was my husband.
I would never tire of watching Kryzen interact with our babies. I believed he was gentle with me, but he was even more so with Emberly and Sulien. Even as they rough-housed, he gave the appearance of being tough. In reality, he was adjusting so that he didn’t put any weight on them at all or was constantly putting his hands beneath them to keep them from hitting the hard ground.
He was even more protective of them than I expected him to be.
