*Kryzen*
These days, I never knew what conditions I would wake up in. I had no way of knowing if I would be in my own home or some dark, abandoned underground city. It was hard to say if my mate would be at my side or not.
I was actually aware of my body before I opened my eyes. I moved, feeling as if I was floating. It was quiet, and I was comfortable, the bedding surrounding me soft and familiar.
Even before waking completely, I could tell that I was home, which relieved me.
I opened my eyes and found myself not in my own bed like I originally thought but in the royal infirmary that had been built into the palace.
I adjusted my position, trying to assess how badly hurt I was. Everything was sore. I could feel bandages wrapped around my chest and left arm. It felt like there was another one wrapped around my knee as well. I was just thankful that they weren’t casts.
