"These were the shoe prints found at the crime scene."
The detective's voice was steady. Across from him, Akira sat in silence, his hands loosely clasped together, while his lawyer leaned forward slightly, already preparing to dismiss the argument.
"And how exactly," the lawyer began, his tone calm yet challenging, "have you connected those prints to my client? Those shoes could belong to anyone. In fact, they might not even belong to the perpetrator."
The detective did not react immediately. He flipped open the file, pointing down at the evidence before speaking again.
"They are limited edition," he replied. "Only five pairs were ever produced in this exact size by the company. One of those pairs was gifted to your client by his close associate, Mr. Kaito Takahashi."
