"What did you just say?" I narrowed my eyes, the air between us suddenly thick with a lethal chill. I could feel the tension vibrating in the air; I knew that if I pushed him even an inch further, he might actually snap and break our contract right then and there, regardless of the consequences.
I couldn't help but wonder why he possessed such a ruthless, explosive temper whenever the topic of his own utility came up. But I pushed the thought aside. In the grand scheme of things, his attitude was a secondary concern.
