Chapter 114 - Hunting Down Enemy Forces

"We will wait," I said, my voice final. I didn't offer any further explanation to the Jumper, whose impatience was practically vibrating off the bronze shield. I had my reasons—strategic, cold, and calculated. For one, I was holding out for a perfect opening to deliver a crippling blow to the enemy's logistics before the main event.

Secondly, I simply needed to kill time. Sara's mobilisation was the lynchpin of my wider strategy, and coordinating ten thousand humans into a coherent marching force would take at least a couple of hours. Why rush into a fortified castle when I could prune the enemy's branches while I waited? Let's have some fun first.

Roar!

Barely ten minutes after their departure, the air shivered. The first dragon appeared, heralded by a thunderous roar that echoed off the surrounding ruins before it banked sharply and landed on the chariot's main deck.
