The plan was already crystallising in my mind. Once I emerged from that initial dungeon dive, I wouldn't keep the spoils to myself. I intended to cycle my extra forces inside, letting them grind for those precious stat points in shifts.
It was the only viable way to shorten the widening power gap between my elite units and the rest of the world's power players during these next two stat-blocked quests. If the system was going to tie our hands, I would simply find a playground where the system's ropes couldn't reach.
Logistically, the pieces were moving. It had taken my troops over a day of hard marching and skirmishing to reach the borders of Ohio, but the retreat would be much swifter. Stripped of the need to scout and clear every hedgerow, they could make the return trip in less than ten hours.
