After returning to campus, Sydney Sawyer was far from idle. Getting together with her friends always meant endless conversations, and she also had to handle graduation errands and pack up four years' worth of personal belongings. Her dorm room floor was often piled so high with clutter, you could barely find a place to stand.
"Syd, I just went to turn in my employment agreement to our advisor and saw your class's League branch secretary," Lauren Brooks said, having just returned from outside and breaking out in a sweat from the heat.
"Oh, really?" Sydney Sawyer replied distractedly.
She was by the door, packing things to be mailed.
"He asked me if you were back, and also asked where you're planning to work," Lauren Brooks said with a mysterious smile.
Cecilia Lowell chimed in, "It's been four years, and he still hasn't given up? Syd, your class's League branch secretary is actually quite devoted to you."
