Even though Sydney Sawyer had already graduated from university, Ryder Sharp still treated her like a child. They hadn't been at the bar long before he paid the bill and they left.
He'd had a lot to drink tonight. Although he was lucid, he was unsteady on his feet.
Sydney Sawyer walked beside him, constantly worried he would fall.
The moment Sebastian Lockwood arrived at the private room, he had downed a bottle of strong liquor. He reeked of alcohol and was clearly tipsy as well.
"I'll take you back," Ryder Sharp said, looking at Sydney Sawyer.
"No need. My university is very close to here. You, on the other hand… you can't drive. I'll get you a designated driver."
"It's late. It's not safe."
"But if you take me back to my dorm in your state, I'll just worry about you leaving on your own."
Ryder Sharp nodded, thinking how sensible she was.
If Ryder Sharp had known Sydney Sawyer was coming, he never would have drunk so much.
