Under the streetlight, Sydney Sawyer was wearing a simple cotton dress and slippers. She was carrying a plastic bag with a supermarket logo on it and looking at Sebastian Lockwood with a complicated expression.
"Going downstairs to buy something?" Sebastian Lockwood walked over, looking no different than usual.
Sydney Sawyer nodded.
"What did you buy?"
"Brown sugar."
Sebastian Lockwood understood what she meant and didn't ask any further.
He reached out to take the plastic bag from her hand, but she held on tight, refusing to let go, creating a stalemate.
"You knew about Henry Caldwell all along, didn't you? Was the Caldwell family's situation your doing? Sending both the father and son to the police station, and even taking down the Stellaris Group."
In Sydney Sawyer's mind, Sebastian Lockwood didn't seem like the kind of person who would resort to such methods.
