Haaa! Huff! Huff!
After a while, Max was huffing as though he had run a marathon, his whole body drenched in sweat which wet the blood and gore sticking to it and produced a nauseating stench.
Max, however, could care less about it right now. In fact, he didn't even notice it because the painful throbbing of his head wasn't allowing him any distractions.
Several minutes later, the throbbing eased up, but at the same time, the slight mental clarity that had left seemed to be on the verge of disappearing.
'Just… what… was that?' He thought.
The instant he tried to activate his Bloodline Sense, an overwhelming pain shot through his body and mind. While he could have endured the physical pain, the mental pain was unbearable.
At that moment, he felt his head was going to burst and he was going to die—every neuron seemed to have been lit on fire.
'I can't… try yet.' He decided to wait and fight off these dark thoughts overwhelming his mind first.
