Seeing where Lin Yi's finger pointed, Ning Che squatted down.
She discovered a palm-sized red stain on a rock.
It seemed very much like a bloodstain.
"In a place like this, where beasts are all around, bloodstains should be quite common, right?" Ning Che said.
"On the surface, it seems normal, but think carefully, and you'll notice something's off."
Looking at the bloodstain on the rock, Lin Yi said softly:
"This is the middle to the back part of the island, and the creatures living here are mostly large animals. If there were a fight or struggle, there should be a much bloodier scene, not just a little bloodstain like this."
Lin Yi stood up and moved around, with Ning Che following behind, looking around.
They found four or five more spots like this, with bloodstains of different sizes, but the largest was no bigger than a palm.
"It does seem a bit strange, looking at it this way," Ning Che said:
"Could it be that someone has been here and there was a shootout?"
