Chapter 185: freedom
Jeremy exhaled and continued.
"I almost made it all the way in when someone grabbed my leg and started pulling.
"Let me go! Let me go!" I remember yelling on top of my preadolescent voice.
It made no difference. I felt the first crack of the whip on my feet and I won't lie, it stung more than I wanted it to.
"Let me go!" I yelled again and again but my uncle was deaf to my screams. I thought no one was going to help me, Dad died a few days after my birth…mom had passed a few months ago, not that she would have done anything. It was just me and my teenage sister, Phoenix. She was too little to do anything to Uncle or so, I thought until she swung an ax at him five seconds later. She missed but when his fist came for her, he didn't…I remember standing there, frozen unable to help my sister. That night afterwards, she stole my uncle's phone and she made a call.
