One of the Chapter Commanders stepped to his side, his gaze fixed on the highest peak of the impossibly massive structure. "It was not built from granite or iron, nor was it shaped by mortal hands."
Lin Diyu turned to the Chapter Commander, a silent question in his eyes.
"It was the work of the empire's ancient scholars—the strongest among them, from an era long past. They built this fortress from millions of ancient manuscripts and forbidden tomes…" The Chapter Commander paused, his voice dropping slightly. "They compressed those millions of pages beneath an unimaginable force, fusing them until they became as rigid as bedrock."
