Upon arriving at the Ancient Pagoda, Little Taotie didn't rush in, and Hua Jinyan began inspecting the exterior of the Ancient Pagoda.
The surface of the Ancient Pagoda had an appearance of decay, as if a layer of rotting wood was attached to it. Little Taotie reached out to touch it but was stopped by Hua Jinyan, who handed her a pair of gloves: "Put these on before you touch it."
Little Taotie patted her forehead: "I almost forgot to wear gloves. If there's poison, I'd be doomed."
It seemed to confirm what she said, as the gloves, with a layer of silver coating, turned black instantly upon contacting the decayed surface of the Ancient Pagoda.
"There's really poison!" Little Taotie was terribly frightened.
If Hua Jinyan hadn't reminded her, her hands would definitely have turned black from poisoning.
Hua Jinyan also wore gloves, and his gloves turned black as well.
He reached out to peel off the decayed layer, revealing the inside.
