AUHTOR'S POV
"They call him Dr. Dani from the neighboring town. I know very little of him. According to Kristia, the doctor made frequent visits at night. And in every consult, Viktor wails in pain. That girl knows a lot. But she refused to talk for the fear that Viktor might hurt her more", Dolphus poured another cup of hot chocolate drink. "You see, Viktor is not a very kind Alpha", he revealed in a very low tone.
'Dr. Dani? Could it be my father Daniel Woodsworth?', she thought. Diana keep on getting hunches. Was her father the healer whom the Lockwoods consulted? Diana began to mull over that Scott's father was probably not a very likable Alpha compared to him. With his irascible personality, it is a mystery why he would deal with a nagual only to end up being cursed and become a lycan, prompting for his son to pay such high price too. "Who's Kristia, Elder Dolphus? And where is she now?".
"She's the house helper of the Lockwoods. One day, she just left the boy all alone. Maybe, she couldn't bear the violence and scary situation in the Lockwoods home.", Dolphus thought.
"What happened to Scott then?", Diana asked fervently.
"Elder Velvet and I took turns looking after the boy ever since", Dolphus said. "He was often neglected, and beaten up by Viktor. He refused to leave his father, you know. That boy did loved his father despite all the hard beatings. He stayed, until Viktor was found burned to death under the banyan tree in the woods.. Stanley took him as planned after that".
Scott may have endured so much pain and hardships at a very young age, Diana deeply thought. She admired his strength for facing it all on his own. Diana felt her back throbbing again, this time she feels some burning on her back. "Who... who killed Viktor?", she asked, trying to focus.
"No one saw what exactly happened. But some say, Viktor had loud confrontations and arguments with the healer, who disappeared and never returned after the incident", he said.
Right now, Diana thinks of the possibility that her father may still be really alive. She only needs to know if the healer and her father is the same person. "I wonder what the nagual got in return", Diana asked as she breathe slowly.
"I'm not very certain. Nagualli believe they are superiors, and they think and act like one. They don't like anyone going above them", he said as he stroke his long beard.
"Always hungry for power and superiority", Diana thought of her mother suddenly. "Do you have leads about the doctor?".
"I heard some wolves here are on a bootleg consultation with a Dr. Dani... We never caught him, not even a trace. He's very careful, and no wolves from our clan reveals his identity", he added.
Diana's chance was the woman from the tavern. The only lead to the truth. "So... how can we stop Scott from turning to a lycan, Elder Dolphus? I can't bear to see himh experience all those things.", Diana worriedly said. In his lycan form, she saw how uncontrollable he was to slaughter anyone including his family, friends and even her.
"Only a nagual can cure him.", Dolphus replied with a deep sigh. "And only a nagual can cure you", he added as he refer to her wound on her back.
"Where do I find a Nagual?", Diana asked in a serious tone wincing on her aching wound.
"Nagualli are hard to find. They find you.", Dolphus replied like there's no hope for Diana and Scott. Diana held her cheeks and suddenly felt her eyes starting to swell. "Your hand.. do you mind if I see, Luna?", Dolphus give out his palm to Diana.
Diana slowly placed her hand over Dolphus' palm. As soon as she rested her hand down, Dolphus' eyes instantly turned all black. He breathe noisily as if something is blocking his nostrils. Diana tried to pull away but Dolphus squeezed her hand tightly.
The entire hut shook violently like there's an earthquake. The wooden bowls and plastic cups started to fell off the open shelves, and the silverware hanging clinked with each other. The ground rumbled as it shakes, as the fire from the hearth flickered so heavily. Then, in a few seconds, everything stopped. Dolphus' eyes turned back to white and gradually let go of his grip on Diana's hand.
"What did you see, Elder Dolphus?", Diana anxiously asked.
"Diana… you are one heavily protected Luna", Dolphus clasped her hands together. "Your blood seems to be very precious. So many beings are attracted to it. ", Dolphus may have seen Calvin and her mother in his visions, Diana thought.
"Did you saw why I can't shape shift?", Diana asked.
"The answer is in your blood", he replied. Diana recalled her blood specimen under the microscope that she observed in the lab. All of her cells were encapsulated, protected by extra layers of thick membranes. Then maybe, just maybe, her blood can cure Scott, she thought. Diana couldn't tell if her blood could miraculously help Scott return to his human form. Because during the time she threw her cloth drenched in blood towards the lycan, the moon have also waned. "What else did you see?", she asked with her voice cracking.
"I saw complete darkness. Death, and a brutal one. Be very careful in making choices, Luna. Play safe, because every single person around you leads to your demise", Dolphus exhaled sharply as he tilted his heads towards the door.
Diana remembered Emilia saw the same thing. Darkness. Dolphus appeared to have stronger powers and senses, making Diana think that she could really be facing death one way or the other. Who wouldn't, she asked herself. Then again, she strongly believed that she will make her own fate, and no one can will dictate how she'll live her life, or when she'll die. Dolphus noticed Diana's silence. Even her breaths are no longer audible. "I'm sorry if I scared you, Luna. Our fate changes all the time, we may have better days tomorrow, or perhaps a good weather to enjoy the rainbow after a heavy rain. You are one smart Luna, and you'll be a great one", he assured Diana as he force a smile.
Dolphus stood up as he hears someone coming. "Hmm? What is it, Elder Dolphus?", she asked.
"Please keep yourself warm here, Luna. I will be right back", he said as he step out.
Diana stayed seated and drank her cup of hot chocolate as Dolphus closes the door. She then continued looking around the house and saw a family picture on the wall. She stood up and stared at it carefully. "Emilia..", she whispered as she sees a picture of Emilia's family with Dolphus sitting in the middle. Then she heard someone who's gone hysterical outside. She stood and walked heavily to peek out the window. The sun is almost up, she thought. Then, she saw the man who welcomed her and Scott back in the Lockwoods cottage.
"Elder Dolphus! Elder Dolphus!! Elder Alarick is looking for you. There has been plans to kill the Luna. The entire town are now looking for her.", he breathlessly said.
"Kill the Luna?! Why?", he surprisingly said. Diana widened her eyes and couldn't believe what she just heard.
"Elder Alarick and Sir Stanley sees her as a bad luck to the clan, who summoned the lycan. Sebastian and Alpha Scott are both wounded, they are being treated in the Devlins chalet", he said. "Now, everyone's enraged to kill the Luna", he added.
Diana gasped hearing what Gregory just said. Sebastian was left in the woods when she fled with Damon. No wonder why he didn't caught up to them, she thought. Most importantly, she might have hurt Scott so much using the silver dagger and the blue purple flowers. Her heart started to race in worry for the two wolves she values. Diana then fearfully looked around where to hide. As she slowly walked away, she accidentally bumped into the table dropping a bowl.
"Is there someone with you inside?", Gregory asked as he stare at the dark hut knowing elder Dolphus lives alone, and rarely accept visitors.
"Maybe, the rodents got in again", Dolphus said, as he stood still blocking the door.
"Do you mind if I take a quick look?",with darkened eyes, Gregory uttered a decent calmness in his tone, but didn't waited for Dolphus' permission to enter his hut.
