In the hospital room, Flora Finch lay quietly, tubes inserted all over her body.

Serena Wells rushed to the bedside, tears streaming down her face.

"Mom, please wake up, okay? You're my only family, don't leave me alone."

Looking at Serena Wells crying, Benjamin Harper's fingers curled slightly, filled with compassion.

He thought of himself when his father passed away, he was as heartbroken as she was.

Sometimes, the living endure more pain than the deceased.

"Annie, don't cry. At least your mom is still alive. As long as she's alive, there can be miracles."

Benjamin Harper patted her shoulder, gently comforting her.

Serena Wells sobbed, turning to hug his waist.

"Evan, I'm in pain. My mom raised me all by herself, enduring many hardships. I was frail and sickly since childhood, and she would leave the good food for me while she could eat pickled vegetables and rice for a week."
