When Lan Xuhuo engaged Di Ying, his fire clone blocking the Altered Wild Dragon, and Wu Di faced Amon, Xia Gao used the chance to move away. He had lost the Sacred Forest art. It would be some time before he could summon the great forest again. Because of this, he didn't have as much support as he wished. The other Holy Temple members were battling Amon's armies, and he saw several altered beasts coming his way.
Though few allies were nearby, plenty of corpses lay around. Ten talismans appeared in his hand. He activated them and threw them away. These talismans landed on the corpses. Tree roots grew where the talismans touched the bodies. These roots spread through the corpses and began animating them.
These were the same root zombie talismans Fei Yun used when she battled Lin Li and the mind practitioners. These root zombies helped Xia Gao fend off the altered beasts as he looked around the battlefield. Finally, he spotted someone he was looking for.
"Xin Hua!" Xia Gao called.
