"Amelia!"
Iris jolted up from her bed, her heart racing as she gained consciousness. She looked around and noticed she was in her quarters back on Helheim, dressed in a black nightgown covering her from neck to toe.
Confusion filled her mind as she tried to recall how she ended up here. Suddenly, a faint memory of how she tried to cast a spell to save Amelia's life flashed through her mind. She looked down on her hands, noticing how weak her body was.
Did she succeed? She wondered. Iris wasn't sure what she'd do if she failed.
Killian told her she only had one chance to cast the spell, and the mana it would consume would be tremendous and potentially kill her. It was why they devised a plan to quickly collect a huge amount of mana by sending Elvine and Lorcan to the Silver City to attack it.
By now, the old city ruled by the Red King should be left in ruins. The attack by Elvine and Lorcan would have been catastrophic, leaving the Silver City weak and vulnerable.
