Elayne and Mark watched Blank leave just like that. They stared at each other for a moment before smiling as brightly as they could, hearts swelling with joy. They had come this far—living inside a noble's house, even if only for seven days. It was a tremendous success.
They didn't waste time, though. There was much to do. First, they decided to wear proper clothes this time. Blank's words had stung their pride deeply, and they refused to feel embarrassed like that again.
Elayne chose pure white: a flowing dress with a semi-transparent veil, white heels, white socks—everything pristine. "Wow… I look like a bride. Is this the style female White Ghosts prefer?"
"Wow…" Mark gazed at her in awe, captivated by her beauty. "You look like a ghost bride…"
"Haha, it's a bit much for my taste, but Blank wasn't wrong. It's better than my old dress…" Elayne nodded. "I'll keep it. Maybe like this, I won't draw so many angry stares from passing White Ghosts."
