"How sure are you it was his child? I mean, you ran away so suddenly and without any explanation that the only natural conclusion we could come up with is that you ran away with a lover," Cinderella commented after hearing her out.
"He is the only man I have had sex with. And I think as for my reason for leaving, it should just be between him and me," Mary could not help but raise her voice when she answered.
She did not appreciate being judged this way. She was the victim of the circumstance not the other way around.
"I am sorry. I am just telling you how clueless he was when he could not reach you anymore. He searched for you for months, leaving his career behind. It was not easy for me to see him like that," Cinderella's voice was apologetic as she poured another cup of coffee for her.
She shook her head. Cinderella has been nothing but kind to her. She did not want to be ungrateful.
