"AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!" a loud shriek came from the living room.
Jack left his room and peaked around the corner with a smirk. "Are you okay?"
"Fuck you, Jack!!" Phina cursed with tears in her eyes. "It was in my fucking hair!!"
"Okay, okay. Calm down." Jack said with a chuckle. "Let's switch. You sleep in my room, I'll sleep in the living room. You need your rest for tomorrow."
Phina glared at Jack as she grabbed her pillow and blanket. She entered Jack's dimly lit room.
It was...empty. There was only a bed in the corner and a bedside table that had a book on it. It was quite the contrast to her expectations. She thought his room would be full of weapons and armors due to how addicted he is to fighting. Jack entered after her and picked up the book, "Okay, if you wake up earlier than me, wake me up immediately. We don't want to miss out on the test."
"I thought you didn't do much except fighting. Looks like you're quite the reader." Phina said as she glanced at the tattered book cover.
"Hardly." Jack admitted. "I bought the novel for you. As for this, I've never actually read it. I...can't. I just hold on to it for sentimental reasons."
"I see." Phina said lightly as she set her stuff on the bed.
"Goodnight, Phina."
"Night."
--------------------------------------------------------------
"I can't believe you would betray me like this!!" Eliot said as he looked towards his blonde, and gorgeous, wife. "You tried to kill me because I befriended another woman!! Seraphina tried to make a move on me, but I always stayed faithful, and for that I get a knife in my gut?!"
Phina glared at the woman on the ground as she stood beside her best friend. Although she respected Eliot's faithfulness, she never respected Neon, his wife. She had seen Neon mess around with other shady people before, she even tried to warn Eliot. Sadly, Eliot always brushed it off saying that she would never betray him, but alas...
"Want me to kill her?" Phina asked as she spun a spear that was on her back.
"No..." Eliot replied. "I'm going to do it. If the Enforcers can't do their damn job, I'll do it for them!!"
The splattering of the blood splashed on Phina's face.
Phina gasped as she woke up abruptly. She breathed heavily as she held her head in her hands. "I shouldn't have let Jack finish that book for me..."
She looked outside the sole window in the room and saw small rays of sunshine leaking into the room. She got up, barely, to wake Jack up.
Swish! Slash! Peng!
Jack slashed over and over around a steel pole in the living room, sometimes hitting it, but mostly slashing the air around the pole.
"You're finally up?" Jack asked as sweat dripped down his forehead.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" Phina asked as she rubbed her eyes.
"I thought I'd let you rest a little more, it's still early." Jack said as he toweled off. "I'll take a shower then we'll move out."
Phina sniffed as she heard the word 'shower', her face then twisted with disgust. "I smell like crap. Hey, Jack. Let me shower after you."
"Alright!" Jack said as he turned the water on.
"Oh, crap." Phina realized. "I don't have a change of clothes."
After Jack came out of the steamy shower, he quickly dressed himself inside the bathroom and got out. "I'm done, it's your turn."
"I don't have any clothes, you got some to spare?" Phina asked as she entered the bathroom.
"I think I got some, give me a sec." Jack replied as he went through his clothes in Fardo's room.
"Oh, this feels heavenly." Phina moaned as the hot water hit her pale white skin.
Jack pulled out two black shirts and a pair of shorts. He put the clothes in front of the bathroom door as he said, "I can't do much for underwear, sorry about that."
"Thanks a bunch." Phina said from inside.
"..." Jack looked at the door for a bit, then turned around as he scratched the back of his head.
After the shower, Phina came out and stretched a bit. "That was amazing. Alright, let's go."
"Sure, just...give me a minute." Jack said from his room. A few moments later, he came out of his room. "Ah...Phina, have you seen my locket?"
He hurriedly searched the couch. His panic was obvious as he rushed to the couch. Phina was flabbergasted. Jack was...wearing the locket around his neck. "Uhm...Jack?"
"You found it?" Jack looked at her.
"It's...around your...neck." Phina said lightly.
"Oh..." Jack said as he looked at the locket. He then sighed in relief, "I...I think I didn't sleep well."
"Roaches?" Phina smirked.
"...no." Jack looked to the side nervously.
"HAH! Got fucked by your own trap!" Phina laughed aloud.
"Hey, you were the one that missed a few!!" Jack said.
"Whatever, dude." Phina said as she took a breath. "Let's go, time to get tested."
