When Rui got back from human civilization, his subordinates and colleagues had absolutely no idea what he had just accomplished. He had chosen not to tell them, either. There was no need, and such information was always shared entirely on a need to know basis.
The first thing he did was go to Dwight's place.
"His Excellency Transcendent Dwight is not here," his assistant, a dwarf named Steth, had told him. "He has entered the manifold in space."
"Oh, right," Rui muttered, having forgotten about that. "Oh well. I'll leave him be. He's doing important work, undoubtedly."
The dwarf nodded. "His Excellency has commenced an extremely important project that will take a lot of time."
Rui had an idea of what that project was, no doubt. Dwight was one of seven engineers who designed and crafted God's Hammer, a combat asset so incredibly powerful that it managed to retain its top ten status despite numerous challengers and powerful contenders emerging in the past thirteen years.
