"I guess... In the end, only Henry and I mattered to you, didn't we? But it was more... me."
He turned his back to his grandfather once more. Logan opened his mouth to say something, but the shards of glass pinning him to his chair moved further into his flesh, silencing him. A smile appeared on the mans face, amazed at the control as he remained silent after that.
"You cared about Henry because he was the one I was most... protective of. I feared he would have to suffer the same as me, so I always exceeded, to make him seem lackluster... so you wouldn't set your eyes on him."
Ezra continued.
"I always dotted over Henry, I thought he would become another me... but a part of me was jealous. Jealous that he'd take the spotlight. I don't know why, maybe a young me really admired you, and would have done anything to live up to your expectations."
