Eason Chalmers was prepared to persuade Charlotte Allison to go with him.
"I don't know much else, but I've heard that some of the biggest Western capital tycoons have been invited, along with major families from Kingstown and even some big figures from the Kingstown political leadership will be attending the gala," he said.
"Hmm, do you have an invitation?" Charlotte Allison asked.
The grandeur of the banquet guests indicated the significance of this event.
"Yes, I managed to get two invitations from my dad," Eason Chalmers explained.
The banquet was not open to the public, with a very high level of confidentiality, and having many connections had its perks; the grapevine was astute.
Mr. Chalmers went to great lengths to get the invitations, but the condition was that Eason Chalmers had to persuade Charlotte Allison to accompany him before he would hand over the invitations.
