When Allen brought a doctor back yesterday to have him undergo a physical check, he found it strange. He had been feeling well recently, so why was there a sudden need for a check-up? However, Allen's unusual concern was rare, so he didn't question it further.
Looking back now, it's clear Allen was worried that learning Charlotte's boyfriend is this rascal would be too much for his weak constitution.
So, when he learned yesterday that Lucas Quinn had brought over so many good things, his hesitant expression wasn't out of shame that his own grandson wasn't as good as an outsider, but because he understood Lucas's intentions.
"Yeah, he knows. He even covered for us quite a bit," Lucas Quinn unhesitatingly threw Allen under the bus to divert some of Mr. Sheldon's firepower.
