Henry Shipton looked at the blood stains on the floor and let out an imperceptible sigh, not knowing whether he felt relieved for solving a problem or felt sorry for Stella Pendleton.
Henry sat on the hospital bed, picked up his phone, and contacted his secretary to send Pendleton's number. He dialed the phone: "Hello, Mr. Pendleton, this is Henry Shipton. Your daughter Miss Pendleton is at Sky Hospital..."
Henry informed Pendleton of the situation that just occurred.
Over there, Pendleton went from tense upon hearing about his daughter's self-harm to slightly relieved knowing she was okay, paused for a few seconds, then spoke: "Mr. Shipton, my daughter's feelings for you are undeniable. I want to understand, do you truly have no feelings for her at all?"
Henry replied, "No."
Pendleton sighed and said, "Stella really likes you; whenever she calls me, she talks about you the most. I initially supported her in pursuing you strongly."
