Henry Shipton only saw the thank-you email Ann Morris had sent last night when he came downstairs for breakfast at 10:30 the next morning and checked the email account logged in on his phone.
It was just a few simple words.
They were both clear-headed people. Ann wasn't going to overthink that Henry helped her because he had some ulterior motive, and for Henry, helping her was just a lift of a hand. The reason he hadn't told her in person was precisely because he didn't want to cause any misunderstandings.
"Ah Ming, are you off today? Come with me to the Allison Family's? I just made some veggie cakes and whole-grain cakes, I'll take some over to Charlotte in a bit. She said last night she was craving them." Linda Bert filled a bowl of soy milk for Henry, picked up two freshly made veggie and whole-grain cakes, and brought them over to him.
