Hu Lai clicked his tongue, containing some confusion, saying: "Actually, these stories of the ancient sages should have been explained by the court long ago, not wait until now."
Hu Kan heard this and laughed heartily: "You are mistaken, do you not know that 'the high has regrets'? I actually think now is just the right time to tell them."
Dragon signifies imperial position, 'the high' means ultimate attainment, suggesting that once a dragon ascends to the highest position, it must start to decline.
Public sentiment and morale can be stimulated to peak in a short time, but cannot be sustained for long.
After a while, people will grow numb to these stories, having heard them too much.
Chu Xisheng clearly foresaw even this, hence the timing.
What His Majesty needs is precisely this brief explosion of public spirit.
This is likely to elevate His Majesty's renown and the Emperor's Secret Technique to the pinnacle.
