"What do you mean?" The middle-aged man looked sharply at the person across the table.
"Let's make this public." The woman took a deep breath, her relatively young face revealing a guilt that didn't match her appearance, "We've killed so many people, it's time for us to seek redemption."
Not just the middle-aged man, but others in the conference room couldn't accept this proposal either. Several people slammed the table, glaring at the woman, "Do you even know what you're saying?!"
"Do you want all our hard work over the past hundred years to go to waste just because of a bit of guilt?"
"This isn't as simple as admitting a mistake or making an apology. Once we publicly admit it, no one will be able to control the situation!"
The ones speaking were visibly agitated, determined to persuade the woman and in turn convince any wavering colleagues.
After a moment of eye contact showdown, the Chief Governor spoke again, "This proposal will never pass."
